If there is no line/fold when you arent frowning, then you probably will not need a dermal filler in addition to the muscle relaxant. If there is a line/fold at rest, a dermal filler may be required. An important factor in the decision-making process is to take into account the expectation and desired outcome you are wanting If you want it smooth and flat, dermal filler here will do that.
If you have a very strong frown fold, which is present at rest (ie when you arent moving your frown muscles). We first treat with muscle relaxing injections, results will be seen ie an improvement, but not enough. We would then treat with dermal filler, leaving perfect results.
Forehead lines are typically treated by most medical practitioners with anti wrinkle injectables. The goal is to diminish exaggerated movement of the forehead. Our highly experienced Medical Staff will leave adequate movement of the forehead, so that an individual does not have a frozen look and can make normal expressions. If the forehead lines are deep, then an advanced dermal filler may be applied to gently lift part of the grooved line. Together with anti-wrinkle injectables and dermal fillers it will last an extended period of time, in many instances.
Anti wrinkle injectables fillers If you just use a filler without anti wrinkle injections, the filler will dissipate quickly because the muscle contractions will cause it to break down and you'll be disappointed that the results did not last longer.
The temple is the region on each side of the face between the top of the cheekbone and start of the brow bone next to the eye. Sometimes a loss of volume in the temple region can create an unflattering shadow effect that can contribute to a dark, dreary appearance of the face and eyes. Most people do not look in the mirror and worry about their temples; however, increased volume in the temples can have a stunning effect on improving the youthful appearance of the face! Through the use of injectable facial fillers, we can strategically fill in hollow temples to highlight the eyes and eliminate undesirable shadowing.
By injecting dermal filler underneath the eyebrow, support can be given to the eyebrow and this elevates the eyebrow up. Usually 1/2 to 1 syringe of product is required in this area. It also helps to soften the bony orbital rim around the eyebrows, leading to a softer and more youthful appearance. The bony rim of the brow is an ageing feature and by placing fillers in this area, it softens this area and reduces any showing of the underlying skull.
Finally, dermal fillers can be used in the middle half of the upper lid/brow to help to reduce the apparent sag of the eyelids. Usually, upper eyelids droop from the outer half first, and this makes the middle half look relatively hollow. By filling the middle half of the brow/eyelid, this balances the appearance of the upper eyelid and reduces droopy eyelids.
